Braden Eric Peters, 20, and two other men were charged after a 26 March livestream from an airboat in the Everglades Wildlife Management Area west of Miami.
Court records say multiple shots were fired into swamp water; authorities have not said whether an alligator was hit. His lawyers said he followed a licensed guide's instructions and nobody was harmed.
The charges were filed on 29 March and carry a possible penalty of under a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Peters also faces separate battery charges in Florida.
