Words Across Europe unveils 2026 cohort for VR writing programme

Nine writers from countries including Ireland, Germany, Spain and Romania were chosen from more than 60 applicants for the third edition, running from May to July.
Participants will develop original series concepts in immersive virtual writers' rooms, with masterclasses, talks and networking before pitching directly to European TV producers and commissioners.
Co-funded by Creative Europe Media and Dublin-based Wide Eye Films, the initiative aims to bring US-style collaborative writers' room practices to a European drama sector where writers often work alone.
