Dow Inc shares fall 5.64% and underperform rivals

The stock closed at $38.50 on Wednesday as the S&P 500 rose 1.46% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.24%.
The drop ended a two-day winning streak, leaving Dow 9.92% below its 52-week high of $42.74 reached on 31 March.
Dow lagged peers including Linde and DuPont, while trading volume rose to 17.4 million shares, above its 50-day average of 14.8 million.
