Biotech R&D job postings rise as employment hits record

BioSpace listings climbed 21% year on year in April, while CBRE said biotech R&D employment reached 295,600 in February after five straight monthly gains.
CBRE linked the growth to improving capital markets, with follow-on offerings, IPOs and M&A activity helping smaller biotechs invest in products, people and facilities.
Only eight companies went public in 2025, but seven did so in the first quarter of 2026, and biopharmas spent about $46.8bn on 19 acquisitions in Q1.
