Karex, which makes more than five billion condoms yearly for Durex, Trojan and the NHS, said in April it needed a 30% rise, while Pasante cited non-latex cost increases of 100%.
Condoms UK said selected products will stay at current prices until 30 June 2026 using existing stock, but warned higher freight costs, longer lead times and supplier increases could reach shelves within three to six months.
Doctors warned even modest rises could deter younger and lower-income users, potentially increasing STI rates, although free condoms remain available through sexual health clinics and GP services.
