The shares closed at $40.21 on Wednesday as the S&P 500 rose 1.46% to 7,365.12 and the Dow gained 1.24% to 49,910.59.
It was Amcor's second straight daily gain, with trading volume reaching 7.4 million shares, above its 50-day average of 5.6 million.
Despite the rally, the stock remains 21.06% below its 52-week high of $50.94, reached on 24 February.
