Doctors at South Carolina’s Marion Medical Center said he took 40mg of the experimental weight-loss drug bought online, then suffered diarrhoea up to 30 times a day.
Tests ruled out other causes, and treatment for dehydration, low potassium and acute kidney injury led to discharge after four days, with recovery confirmed at follow-up.
