Hundreds of thousands of US drivers now have beta access, while riders can use a microphone icon to request trips through OpenAI Realtime APIs.
Uber said the assistant gives real-time earnings, positioning and onboarding guidance, and uses a multi-agent system plus an internal AI Guard layer for safety, privacy and speed.
The company, which handles 40 million trips daily across more than 70 countries, says the tools aim to help new drivers ramp up faster and reduce booking friction.
