Four officials pulled out on Wednesday, including Manhattan and Brooklyn criminal chiefs Amanda Houle and Alixandra Smith, plus SEC and CFTC enforcement leaders.
The withdrawals came before the New York City Bar Association's annual white-collar crime conference, a regular gathering of senior prosecutors, regulators and defence lawyers.
