Windhorst told The Rich Eisen Show the injured Lakers star likely used April's trip to visit family in Slovenia after suffering a Grade 2 hamstring strain on 2 April.
He questioned Spain as a treatment destination, but Slovenian analyst Matej Petek disputed him, saying Doncic went for stem cell or PRP therapy and does not live in Madrid.
Doncic has not played since the injury, though he has resumed light workouts and missed Tuesday's loss to Oklahoma City, with expectations he will miss at least one more playoff game.
