In Rockford, BBB regional director Dennis Horton said scammers now use cloned LinkedIn recruiter profiles, fake texts and imitation websites to target applicants.
A common tactic is chat- or phone-only interviews followed by fast offers and requests for Social Security numbers, bank details or ID scans for supposed payroll setup.
