The state added 5,400 private-sector jobs to reach 2,839,200, while its labour force participation rate was 63.3% against the US rate of 61.9%.
Manufacturing led gains with 2,000 jobs, followed by leisure and hospitality with 1,900, as trade, transportation and utilities added 900 and financial activities 700.
Indiana's labour force totalled 3,493,123, with 98,050 open job postings as of 29 March and 20,972 continued unemployment insurance claims in the week ending 4 April.
