The Houston Astros infielder said Wednesday the injury was a complete tear suffered while taking swings before Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, with recovery expected to take six to eight months.
Correa, 31, said he felt the tendon "pop" and collapsed, unable to put weight on the ankle. He is batting .279 with three home runs and 16 RBIs this season.
