Since late March, he has listed huge quantities online, with the haul estimated at nearly $1m and sold through Facebook, TikTok and eBay.
The sales alarmed parts of the Yu-Gi-Oh community, where some suspected the cards were stolen rather than discarded, as his posts became increasingly erratic.
Earlier reports said the find included hundreds of uncut sheets, which Konami says cannot be sold, and that the seller claimed to have made tens of thousands of dollars.
