New satellite imagery indicates hangars, barracks, fuel depots, aircraft and radar, communications and air-defence equipment were hit across US sites since late February.
The report says the toll exceeds previous US government accounts; seven American service members have been killed and more than 400 troops injured in the regional attacks.
The strikes came after the US-Israeli assault on Iran and amid disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, where closure has cut more than 10 million barrels a day of oil supply.

The 16 U.S. Military Bases Devastated by Iran’s 2026 Offensive: Damage, Costs, and Strategic Fallout
Overview
Between February and May 2026, Iran launched a large-scale offensive that severely damaged at least 16 U.S. military sites across the Middle East, concentrating destruction at key bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. This attack destroyed critical aircraft, drones, and advanced radar systems, degrading U.S. situational awareness, air defense, and command capabilities. In response, the U.S. dispersed its forces to reduce vulnerability, but this introduced communication and logistical challenges. The conflict escalated regionally, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, causing global fuel price spikes and economic strain. Domestic opposition in the U.S. grew amid rising costs and casualties, while Gulf allies hedged their commitments, leading to a strategic stalemate with uncertain prospects for resolution.
