Carlos Rodón returns to majors as Elmer Rodríguez is optioned

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Rodón should make his next start after Tuesday's rehab outing, replacing Rodríguez, who made two starts before being sent to Triple-A.
The move also lets New York carry an extra reliever through a stretch without an off day until Rodón's turn in the rotation.
Gerrit Cole also made a rehab start Tuesday but Boone said he remains some way from returning, while Ben Rice hopes to be back soon and Giancarlo Stanton has not resumed running.
