The 28-page publication targets grades 6-12 and adults, covering 10 themes including solar wind, aurora, eclipses and the Sun's magnetic field.
It includes solar terms in seven Alaska Indigenous languages, a scientific glossary, and links to online pronunciation guides developed with input from 13 Alaska Native language speakers.
Created over two years by NASA, UAF and Oregon State University teams, the book is part of NASA's HEAT and Science Activation efforts to boost heliophysics literacy.
