Hec Tech shares surge 10% after AI computing services deal

The Guangdong-based company said its new Hec Cloud unit signed a five-year contract worth CNY16 billion to CNY19 billion with an unnamed corporate client.
Hec Cloud, set up last month, will procure and deploy high-performance servers, then provide operation, maintenance and leasing-based computing power services for monthly fees.
Hec Tech said the project marks a milestone in intelligent computing services but requires heavy upfront financing, after its 2025 Chindata China acquisition and planned move to raise its stake to 100%.
