The women, aged 57 and 54, were detained on Thursday over posts linked to Lambeth council races in south London and remained in custody.
They are understood to be Saiqa Ali and Sabine Mairey, with police investigating reported antisemitic material under the Public Order Act after concerns were raised on 21 April.
The Green party declined comment during the inquiry, as Lambeth remains a key election target where the party hopes to build on its four councillors.
