The 26-year-old California man received 15 years to life on Tuesday in Ventura County after pleading guilty in March to killing 15-year-old Zayde in Newbury Park.
Prosecutors said Sharp attacked his wheelchair-using half-brother, who had cerebral palsy, with a pickaxe in a backyard shed in December 2024, then fled before deputies arrested him at nearby Newbury Park High School.
Sharp admitted weapon use, great bodily injury and victim vulnerability; authorities have not released a motive, though relatives reportedly suspected a manic episode, and prosecutors said the plea spared the family a trial.
