At a Tuesday Baltimore news conference, Warren Boardley Jr.'s father and lawyer said the crash happened on the New Jersey Turnpike near Newark Airport.
They said the plane's landing gear tire and underside hit the H&S Bakery truck and a light pole, leaving the driver with blunt force trauma and severe psychological distress.
Attorney J. Wyndal Gordon said he sent letters to United and 10 other entities, while H&S Bakery and the National Transportation Safety Board investigate.
