Polling opens on Thursday in Scotland, Wales and parts of England, with more than 5,000 council seats, 136 councils and six mayoralties being contested.
Plaid Cymru, the SNP and Reform UK are battling for gains, while Labour and the Conservatives brace for losses and the Liberal Democrats and Greens target disaffected voters.
