The Riga-based startup, founded in 2025 by Nordigen co-founder Rolands Mesters and Martins Spilners, was backed by DIG Ventures and other investors.
BirdyChat uses work email addresses instead of phone numbers and can message WhatsApp contacts via EU Digital Markets Act interoperability rules, aiming to reduce privacy and compliance risks.
The funding will support a web app, AI features and access for a 50,000-person European waitlist, targeting a gap left by internal tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams.
