Starting today, Google Docs users can set remembered tone, style and formatting rules in Gemini’s side panel, with up to 1,000 active instructions per US English Google Account.
Google says examples include always using bullet points, adding three bullets to summaries, or keeping a concise professional tone, while active instructions will appear in the sources page and settings.
The change is meant to reduce repeated prompting about document preferences, but Google has not said when other regions will get it and the rollout appears limited to Google AI Plus members and above.
