Dow Jones Market Data said the gain puts AMD in the top 5% of S&P 500 performers in 2026 to date.
Within chip stocks, however, AMD is less exceptional, ranking 12th out of 30 companies in the PHLX Semiconductor Index, or roughly the top 40%.
