The 36-year-old was injured on Sunday in a Copa Chenel qualifying round in Valdemoro, Spain, and later needed a second operation after doctors found a blood clot in one leg.
The bull turned unexpectedly and lifted Duran by the groin, but he managed to run clear before being taken to hospital for treatment to a serious testicular injury.
He is in stable, improving condition in intensive care. The incident follows another serious bullfighting injury in April, when Jose Antonio Morante de la Puebla suffered a perforated rectum.
