On day three at Villa Chardonnay, teams from Pasadena and Marin Humane were helping remove at least 165 horses, 225 cats, 30 dogs and other animals.
Officials said many animals lacked adequate care, with severe malnutrition, emaciation, untreated wounds and some euthanised on site after veterinarians deemed it the only humane option.
The rescue followed an April investigation and court-ordered transfer of ownership; sanctuary representatives denied neglect, while county investigators considered whether to refer the case for prosecution.
