The update reaches more than 250 million compatible cars worldwide, after Gemini began a slow rollout late last year and the media player redesign arrived with Android Auto 16.
Google shifted playback controls to the bottom-left for easier driver access and says Gemini handles context, follow-up questions and multistep tasks better than Google Assistant.
The features are also coming to Android Automotive and Google built-in, where Gemini can use vehicle hardware such as climate controls without requiring a connected Android phone.
