Amazon advertising revenue rises 24% and lifts operating margin to record

Q1 advertising sales reached $17.2bn, while Amazon posted a record 13.1% operating margin and more than $70bn in trailing-12-month ad revenue.
Chief executive Andy Jassy said growth was supported by wider ad reach, including partnerships with Netflix and Comcast Advertising, interactive video ads, and broader rollout of AI creative tool CreativeAgent.
Amazon also added sponsored prompts in Rufus, whose monthly users rose more than 115%, reinforcing the view that advertising is becoming a major profit driver alongside AWS despite exposure to retail demand and ad cycles.
