Oracle shifts to monthly security patch updates for software

The first Critical Security Patch Update arrives on 28 May, followed by releases on 16 June, 21 July and 18 August.
Oracle said the smaller updates will deliver faster fixes for critical vulnerabilities in ERP, database and other products, while quarterly cumulative Critical Patch Updates continue unchanged.
The move targets on-premises and customer-hosted users, while Oracle-managed cloud customers are patched automatically; Oracle said AI tools, including OpenAI and Anthropic models, are helping speed vulnerability detection.
