Etsy launches ChatGPT app for natural language shopping

The beta lets users tag @Etsy in prompts to search more than 100 million listings and click through to Etsy to compare items or buy.
The move follows the end in March of Etsy's Instant Checkout test inside ChatGPT after weak sales, and comes as Etsy also trials a conversational gift-search tool on its own platform.
The launch extends Etsy's AI push after Q1 revenue beat expectations at $631 million, active buyers rose to 86.6 million, and developers gained access to build ChatGPT apps last October.
