The game comes from veterans of Guitar Hero, Rock Band and DJ Hero, with launch timing for Nintendo's new console still to be announced.
Echo Foundry says it will ship with more than 50 songs, support controllers, keyboards, microphones and compatible guitar peripherals, and offer local split-screen, online co-op and competitive play.
It also includes a PulseMap Editor for user-made charts and music uploads, while free indie tracks, $0.99 studio covers and monthly exclusive DLC releases aim to build a creator-driven community.
