He said the toll, based on servicemen's and the defence minister's April reports, reached 35,203 and outpaced Russian replacements for a fifth straight month.
Zelensky also said Ukrainian medium-range strikes beyond 20km doubled from March and quadrupled from February, while unmanned ground vehicles completed more than 10,200 logistics and evacuation missions in April.
He called for faster contracting, production and troop supply of UGVs, with higher May targets set for the military and defence ministry, as Ukraine seeks to make Russian advances unsustainable.
