The Hall of Famer spoke after Orlando blew a 3-1 first-round series lead to top-seeded Detroit and dismissed bench options a day after Jamahl Mosley was sacked.
McGrady said the Magic must improve to compete in the East, citing rivals New York, Boston and Detroit after Orlando squandered a 24-point home lead and missed 23 straight shots in Game 6.
