The back-to-back arrests near San Diego involved a Mexican national and a Guatemalan national, detained on Monday and Tuesday and now being processed for removal, CBP said.
One had been convicted in January 2024 of contacting a minor with intent to commit a sex offence; the other had convictions for assault and battery and child molestation.
San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Justin De La Torre said the arrests reflected proactive efforts to identify dangerous criminals, as DHS said CBP apprehended 8,200 illegal migrants in March.
