Indonesia unemployment rate falls to 4.68% in February 2026

  • Statistics agency BPS said 7.24 million people were unemployed from a 154.91 million labour force, while employment rose 1.896 million to 147.76 million year on year.
  • Urban joblessness fell to 5.60% and rural unemployment to 3.20%, while formal and informal employment both increased and full-time work edged up to 66.77% of jobs.
  • Agriculture, forestry and fisheries remained the biggest employer with 42.49 million workers, but BPS said high school graduates still made up 28% of the unemployed and underemployment was 7.27%.
