The 43-year-old Australian author admitted in a Perth court to two offences involving material produced in January after his arrest during a police raid on his Western Australia home.
Two additional charges, including one linked to material allegedly produced in 2022, were dropped; his bail was continued and he is due back in court in July.
Since his January arrest, publishers, shops and schools in Western Australia and Victoria have removed books including Jasper Jones, Runt and Rhubarb from shelves and teaching lists.
