TCL develops NXTPAPER OLED display to improve eye safety

The panel uses 3840Hz PWM dimming, 10-bit colour and a hardware blue-light filter cutting emissions to 2.9%, down from 3.41% on NXTPAPER 4.0.
TCL says the OLED version keeps NXTPAPER's matte etched surface, circular polariser and anti-reflective design while reducing flicker, temporal dithering and harmful blue-light wavelengths linked to headaches and eye strain.
The company plans to drop version numbers and launch devices branded simply NXTPAPER OLED, with a debut expected later this year, possibly at IFA Berlin in September.
