At Andrew’s Honey on West 75th Street and Columbus Avenue, more than 60 people signed up to collect fresh colonies.
The annual event, nicknamed the “running of the bees”, supplies local beekeepers with live hives for their beekeeping activities.
Coté has staged the distribution for about 20 years at sites including Bryant Park and Columbus Circle, making it a recurring New York City tradition.
