President Jeff Weltman dismissed Mosley on Monday, a day after Orlando blew a 3-1 series lead and a 24-point Game 6 advantage in a seven-game loss to Detroit.
Weltman said injuries, especially Franz Wagner's calf strain in Game 4, altered the series, but insisted the roster should stay largely intact because the team looked elite when healthy.
Mosley, 47, made the playoffs in each of the past three seasons but never advanced beyond round one. Orlando finished 45-37 after an injury-hit year despite last offseason's major trade for Desmond Bane.
