Brazil tourism posts record Q1 revenue and visitor numbers

The sector generated US$3.2bn and welcomed 3.74 million international travellers in the first quarter of 2026, while March arrivals rose 13% year on year to 1,053,098.
March tourism revenue reached US$934m, US$4m above a year earlier, with Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Parana among key destinations.
The government credited Embratur promotions and visa-free entry for Chinese visitors; Brazil logged US$10.4bn in foreign tourist spending in 2025, and January arrivals from China jumped 75%.
