Capcom confirms Leon, Chris and Jill remain in Resident Evil

In a Eurogamer interview, Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi said the studio does not feel the need to replace recognisable heroes with younger characters.
He said character ages will not be strictly matched to the series timeline, adding Leon could return even at 70 despite Requiem raising fears he might die.
The clarification follows speculation that the ninth mainline game, released as part of the franchise's 30th anniversary celebrations, might pass the torch to newcomers such as FBI agent Grace Ashcroft.
