Speaking on his YouTube channel after a subscriber question, the Fallout co-creator said many gamers now adopt influencers' views instead of forming their own.
Cain said this has changed reviews from descriptive guidance to blunt buy-or-skip judgments, while developers increasingly design cinematic moments, bosses and effects to generate shareable clips.
He said trusted reviewers can still help players find suitable games, but warned discourse may become more tightly controlled by influencer bubbles unless audiences push back in the 2030s.
