At Cannes, AGC will show first footage of the family animation, budgeted at about $30m, with a human voice cast still to be set.
The feature is written by James Lamont, Jon Foster and Tom Butterworth, directed by Nik Kleverov, and produced with Chad Nelson of OpenAI and Vertigo Films.
Adapted from Nelson's 2023 viral short, Critterz is being marketed as one of the first mainstream family films to use AI across its production pipeline.
