Katouzian joins in May from Qualcomm to lead Client Computing and Physical AI, while Ranade becomes permanent CTO at the Santa Clara chipmaker.
Both will report to chief executive Lip-Bu Tan as Intel seeks to align its client computing business with robotics, autonomous machines and other edge AI devices.
Ranade will also remain Tan’s chief of staff, overseeing technology strategy and projects in quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, photonics and novel materials.
