In an April 30 Instagram Story, Sorrentino, 43, said he had contacted his Jersey Shore co-star, 40, after fans reacted to a cast interview featuring Nicole Polizzi, Jenni Farley and Sammi Giancola.
He said he was not responsible for another cast member's actions, called the situation separate from his own path, and added he was still waiting for Ortiz-Magro to respond.
Sorrentino, who entered rehab in 2012 and says he has protected nearly 11 years of sobriety, said he would be there if Ortiz-Magro was willing; no comment had come from Ortiz-Magro's representative.
