Filed in California federal court by lead plaintiff Terri Else, the case seeks a nationwide class and California subclass for purchases from 16 December 2024.
The complaint says automatic updates caused black screens, boot failures, crashes, freezing and Wi-Fi disconnections in Roku Select and Plus sets and TCL Roku 3, 4, 5 and 6-Series models.
Plaintiffs seek damages, restitution, injunctive relief and a jury trial, in what is described as a second attempted class action involving Roku and TCL televisions.
