Loma Linda University researchers in California tracked nearly 40,000 adults for 15 years and found egg eaters twice weekly also had lower risk.
The greatest apparent benefit came among people consuming eggs up to five times a week, with dementia risk reductions reaching 27%.
Researchers said nutrients including choline, vitamin B12, lutein and zeaxanthin may support brain health, but stressed the study shows association, not proof, and advised a balanced diet.
