At UFC Perth, Prates stopped former champion Jack Della Maddalena in the third round, improving to 7-1 in the promotion with seven knockouts and seven post-fight bonuses.
He said beating two former champions, including Leon Edwards and Maddalena, by knockout makes him the logical challenger for the winner of a potential Islam Makhachev-Ian Machado Garry title fight.
