At Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Bushwick, police charged eight people and issued one summons after a crowd gathered overnight during Okeke's discharge.
ICE said the Nigerian man had overstayed his visa, had prior assault and drug-possession arrests, and became combative during arrest, while requesting medical treatment for injuries.
The NYPD denied involvement in the operation but said officers responded to disorderly crowds; Councilmember Sandy Nurse disputed that, saying police appeared to coordinate with ICE.
